It’s always a little bitter sweet when we bid adieu to each of our books of the month, and this time is no exception. We have LOVED hosting Kimberly Derting and her books, The Body Finder and Desires of the Dead. We adore working with Kim even more than we like her books (and that’s saying something). We’ve had a blast this past month … here’s a look back at the highlights:
What’s your echo? Writing Contest
There’s still time! This contest ends at midnight (PT) tonight!! So hurry up and enter … three winners will get these AWESOME prize packs from Kim, which include a signed copy of Desires of the Dead along with an assortment of swag, much of it also signed:
We interviewed Kim last year when her first book, The Body Finder, came out … but we were delighted when Kim dished on even more stuff this go around with our second Q&A. Be sure to check out both part 1 and part 2, then check out this hilarious video outtake of Kim attempting to shoot a 10-second video for her UK publisher.
Kim dishes on the future of The Body Finder series
When we were pestering Kim with our new Q&A session, we had lots to ask about TBF3 and the future of her series. Kim was only too kind to oblige, so be sure to check out this exclusive bonus Q&A session for more about future books in her series.
Desktop Wallpapers & a Book Trailer
We teamed up with the fabulous Vania of VLC Productions to create some fantabulous Desires of the Dead desktop wallpapers for you — each one using gorgeous still photos from Vania’s book trailer shoot. Then we got a one-on-one Q&A session with Vania to find out about what happened behind the scenes of the Desires of the Dead book trailer shoot!
Kim Guest Blogs … and guest blogs some more!
We initially only intended for Kim to write ONE guest blog for us this month. But then we asked her for a Desires of the Dead playlist, and she didn’t just send us a list … she sent us an entire post. And when we asked her for a list of her book recommendations, well … the same thing happened. And then we got Kim’s ACTUAL guest blog, in which she shared the challenges and changes of writing a sequel, versus writing her first book.
Beyond the Books
We even delved deeper into her love of The Body Finder books, with some ways to explore the subjects in these books further — both recreationally and in the classroom — plus threw in a few other goodies, too:
- The Crime Thriller/Mystery Genre
- Paranormal 101
- Essay & Project Topics for Desires of the Dead
- Our Fantasy Movie Cast for The Body Finder
- The Body Finder: The Best of Jay & Violet
