What’s Your Echo? Desires of the Dead Writing Contest

What’s your echo?

That’s the tagline for Kimberly Derting’s Body Finder books, and it references main character Violet’s uncanny talent for finding the dead. Violet senses the “echoes” of the dead — a sound, a smell, a taste, a sight — that lead her to bodies. So we want you to get creative and imagine what YOUR echo would be for this month’s book of the month writing contest.

The Contest

What’s your echo? Based on the concept from Kimberly Derting’s The Body Finder and Desires of the Dead, describe what you imagine your echo might appear like to Violet.

In 150-300 words, describe your echo and how it might “call” to Violet. If you want, you can even get creative and write as if you ARE Violet discovering your echo.
