Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and whether you plan to spend it with a sweetheart or you’re flying solo, it’s definitely a good time to dive into some fantastic stories about love.
So without further ado, here are our picks for 14 YA Books About Love to Read this Valentine’s Day:
Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle
It’s an especially appropriate time to dive into THIS particular book, as the Freeform TV show adaptation premieres in a few months.
Velvet by Temple West
If, like me, you never got over the vampire trend, then you’ll swoon over this dreamy, seductive story. Another well-time read, as the sequel – Cashmere – comes out next week, on Valentine’s Day!
All We Have is Now by Lisa Schroeder
A story about living in the present and fulfilling our dreams, I’ve dubbed this the “end of the world book you didn’t know you needed.” It’s just the sort of hopeful story that feels especially warranted given current world events, and is a story about all manner of love.
All in Pieces by Suzanne Young
Love for family and romantic love are both key themes in this dark, gritty story from the New York Times best-selling author of the Program series.
The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things by Ann Aguire
The story of a teen girl who seeks to bring brightness and joy to the world around her, despite her own secret troubles. It’s about what happens when life falls apart and the power of love.
Young Widows Club by Alexandra Coutts
What happens when you lose love? A story about starting over and finding happiness after grief.
The Start of Me & You by Emery Lord
Any book by Emery Lord is bound to be filled with romance, but I especially adore this story about one girl learning to let go and let life surprise her.
First Comes Love by Katie Kacvinsky
I am a huge fan of this sweet, simple story about two opposites falling in love and the work that goes into make a relationship successful.
I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios
A story about two people trying to find their way in the world, and happen to find each other along the way.
Forever by Judy Blume
I mean. It’s a classic, you guys.
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
Let’s be honest, any of Elizabeth’s books would be a great Valentine’s Day read — but I still have a soft spot for her debut novel about a girl who swears off love, only to find herself falling hard for the perfect guy.
Anna & the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
The first in a trilogy of interconnected stories about teens and love, these books are brimming with swooniness. I highly recommend picking up all three books and just binging on the love within.
The Game of Love & Death by Martha Brockenbrough
An unlikely pairing, and the on-going battle between Love and Death, this book has quickly become one of my all-time favorites.
The Lovely Reckless by Kami Garcia
Described as “Romeo & Juliet meets The Fast & the Furious,” this book gives you star-crossed lovers and the gritty world of illegal street racing in one captivating package.
