Marvel Powers of a Girl: Styled By Books + Contest

Today, I’ve teamed up with Disney Books to feature Marvel Powers of a Girl, an amazing & gorgeous new book for any Marvel fan. This is a stunning, full-color and fully-illustrated ode to all of the fierce females in the Marvel Universe, and I couldn’t resist getting decked out in my Marvel finest for a Styled By Books shoot inspired by this book. (Plus, keep reading to learn how you can win a copy!)

From well-known favorites like Black Widow and Captain Marvel, to the fierce Wakandan warriors of the Dora Milaje, to beloved cult hit Squirrel Girl. I loved (1) learning more about these characters, and their place in the Marvel Universe (both in the movies and in the comics) and (2) seeing these ladies take center stage.

It so often feels like dudes take over when it comes to the comics, but this books proves that there are some incredible women in the superhero comics world & we’d be better off with even more of them.

This Styled By Books outfit was a no-brainer for me. The skirt was actually made by ME using fabric I got at my local Joann Fabrics store. The infinity scarf, made from the same fabric, was a Christmas gift from my hubby & you can find a similar one here. I topped it off with my favorite cropped cardigan from Mod Cloth.

Of course, the good news about being a fangirl these days is the increasing availability of fandom apparel and accessories. Some of my favorite places to find these are Her Universe, Torrid & Hot Topic.

Oh, and that book sleeve that matches my skirt & scarf? That’s from Live the Cozy Life.

Head over to my Instagram & look for today’s post about this book for your chance to win a copy of Marvel Powers of a Girl.

This is the Marvel Universe. Where the personalities, powers, and straight-up legends of countless heroic women have captured readers for generations.

This unique book is the perfect start-or addition-to any Marvel fan’s collection! Using her in-depth knowledge and passion for Super Heroes, Lorraine Cink explores the lives of the exceptional and diverse women of the Marvel Universe. Filled with inspirational lessons and clever observations, each section digs into what these relatable women can teach us all about growth, bravery, and the true meaning of strength. Paired with over one hundred original, vibrant, and emotive illustrations from the talented Alice X. Zhang, this book balances the responsibility and the fun the comes with being a hero.
