The Land of Unicorns is in trouble — it has been raining and raining for what seems like forever. This is a big problem because there are only three ways that unicorns can get their magic: from the golden sun, from magnificent rainbows, and from the sparkle of believing.
Luckily, Uni the Unicorn has always always always believed…that little girls are REAL. Join this very special unicorn and the little girl who believes right back as they finally meet and work together to save a magical land and all who live there!
Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Brigette Barrager reunite to revive this world glowing with possibility and hope that is the stuff of childhood fantasies.
There is so much to love about this book — and if you’re already a fan of Uni the Unicorn, than this sequel is an easy sell. It finally sees Uni and the Little Girl meet each other, and witness the magic of their shared belief.
These books are so magical. The illustrations and the prose combine so effortlessly to tell a story about the power of belief and dreams. It shows that belief not only gives you a certain power, but that the power of your belief can extend beyond yourself. Belief in magic; in doing good; in helping others. And it shows what can happen when you believe together.
One of my favorite parts of the book is a two-page spread, in which Uni and the little girl have just met in person for the first time. There is only one sentence for these two pages, but a series of illustrations show so simply and beautifully the first moments of their time together. These two pages alone are filled with emotion and love, and this feeling oozes throughout the entire book.
Uni the Unicorn & the Dream Come True is in stores tomorrow.
