  1. How do I start about why I love it? It is happy and sad, it builds you up and rips you down. These books have been an emotional roller coaster and I am excited and terrified about how it will end!

  2. I’m a huge fan of Magnus and Alec. Their relationship just has me feeling all the feels! XD

    **Rachelle**

  3. What I love about The Mortal Instruments series is that it combines so many elements from the supernatural genre, and at the same time has a lot of original elements as well. My students are constantly checking the books out and I can barely keep the series on my shelf!

  4. So depressing that this amazing series is ending but so excited to see if the relationships are able to make it. Especially my favorite, Magnus, who is all about embracing who you are and being proud.

I LOVE the whole world-building aspect of the series, it’s so original! The Silent Brothers are my favorites and I love the romance 🙂

    Thank you 🙂

  6. For me its impossible to say what I love about TMI. I love the characters (especially Jace :D), I love the way the books are written. I love that when I start reading a TMI book I cannot predict what is going to happen. I love the book covers. I love the world that Cassie created: that complicated, dangerous and amazing world of the Shadowhunters. I love that complicated and wonderful relations between characters. I love that Shadowhunters look better in black tha the widows of their enemies since 1234. I love that there are werewolves, vampires, demons and faries. The Mortal Instruments books are PERFECT! That’s the only word I can use to describe thta books. But I also love them because they teach us to be brave even if we know that what we are facing is dangerous and impossible to defeat. To discover who we really are.

  7. I can’t wait for CoHF to come out! Cassandra Clare’s books have changed the way I look at books. Her books are amazing!

  8. I haven’t really gotten into the series yet so it’s hard to believe that it’s coming to a close already. I know that it has been immensely popular and I think a lot of that has to do with the quality of the characters. Only really well-rounded, strong personalities can keep a series going for this long and still be so well liked by so many people.

  9. I love that The Mortal Instruments is a great series for all ages and readers. I lent my City of Bones to my guy friend and he really liked it. I also recommended it to my teacher.

  10. I love everything about TMI!! Cassie offers a character diversity that so many authors neglect in modern fiction. She presents the characters in such a real way that you can’t help but love them and connect with them. She touched so many people, especially with Alec and how he dealt with his sexuality. There is just so much to love in his series, I’m almost crying that I have to say goodbye. I refuse to accept this reality!!!

  11. What I loved about TMI was Cassie Clare’s use of sarcasm is the dialogue between the characters. Being a rather sarcastic person myself made reading the snarky conversations and perfectly placed one-liners that much better.

  12. I love the way that each character has evolved into a person that everyone has known at one time in there life. I especially like the way that Simon has gone from nerd to cool.

  13. I love the struggle that all the characters have had to go through. Watching the grow has been great. I also love the world that Cassandra created. Thank you.

  14. I haven’t read this series yet but I have heard such good things about it! My library has them but I have been told that i NEED to own them so I would love to win this contest!

  15. I love Mortal Instruments (and Infernal Devices) because despite being a fictional world, it is incredibly realistic. Cassie did a great job creating the fictional world that isn’t separate from ours, but hidden within ours, making you want to believe in it. On top of that, Cassie is fantastic at character development. Simon, for example, was a scared nerd at the beginning of the series. Even when he first became a vampire that was true. Throughout the series, he has become more confident in himself, and more sure in what he believes in. The characters are ridiculously easy to fall in love with because they have to deal with problems that can be identified with and they mature and grow through the various situations they have to face.

  16. I love the interaction and strong relationships that have been build up with the storyline of six books and how they have become a family that would do anything for each other. To bartering with Angels and taking on demons it has all been done together.

  17. What I loved about this series was the romance and the magic and the creativity of the world. Cassandra Clare has a brilliant mind and thats much needed in this day and age.

  18. Tbh what I love about the series is that it portrays not only strong and actually believable characters, but its got a lot of relatable themes subtly put in play through the story. It could have been a complete mush of mthical creatures and termanolgy which at times it is but with good reason. My fave part has got to be Simon having to come to terms with his vampirism and how he deals with his religion and family which was really interesting since those issues can be untouched and overloooked a lot of series. And I love the edition of Sebastian as a villain since he’s a further extention of Valentine but diferent at the same, offering.a journey and adventure readers want to follow but won’t become bored of. I really think they adapt the rest of the series or at least City of Ashes and City of Glass since its essentially a dsepereate trilogy to the the next three novels.

  19. What do I Love? What’s NOT to? The characters, the story line, likeable characters balanced with this you love to hate. It’s YA fantasy without taking readers so off course that they feel lost in space. ^-^

  20. What do I Love? What’s not to! The writing style, the story line, the characters you love balanced with those you love to hate. It’s YA fantasy without being so far out there that readers feel lost in space. ^-^

  21. For me to say why I love “The Mortal Instruments,” it would take me weeks and weeks to explain what I love the most. I love the way Cassandra Clare has this ability to capture the feeling that makes us believe that there is another world lurking in our own. She has this diversity in her characters that helps people realize that there is no stereotype of character possible. When you’re so sure that the character is going to do one thing, you’re completely wrong. I just love all of her writing. 🙂

  22. For me it’s always been the relationships. The plots are so good but the characters are what will always make me love this book.

  23. I love EVERYTHING about the Mortal Instruments series! Especially Magnus! (He’s my favorite) 🙂

  24. I love all the relationships, especially Jace and clary. Also, very strong women characters who can take care of themselves and the boys.

  25. The Mortal Instrument series has so many supernatural creatures, they all believe in each other and they unite against a common evil. The best thing. .. The stereotypical evil ones even unite against the ultimate evil.

  26. The characters are interesting, the plot holds on and never wants to let you go. There’s action, suspense, and the right amount of romance. I enjoy the interaction between the characters, the sarcastic and funny comments, and watching them grow throughout the series. You go on a journey with the characters and feel what they feel. I think that as they grow, you grow a little as well.

  27. Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways…I first fell in love with the characters, and they are still my biggest reason for reading the series. The banter and romantic mayhem. Will Magnus and Alec make it? Will Simon finally get the girl? What awesome one-liner will Jace spout next? I love the world, the writing, the evil cliffhangers, talking to other readers about what we think Cassie Clare will pull next…The list is endless.

  28. I love TMI because it was one of the first YA book series I ever got into. Jace, Simon, and Magnus are my favorite characters and Cassie’s writing style is the best.

  29. I love the plots twits no mater if I hate the way it work for the characters. I also love Cassandra Claire’s writing style and how she describes the events that happen within each book. The relationships make everything funny or gives you feels. Jace and Clary? Simon and Isabelle? Alec and Magnus? These are the relationship dramas that help us connect to the end of the world events that happen.

  30. What I love about the series is all the action, romance, and the exciting story lines. It keeps you on your feet and wanting to get the next book.I also like the fact that Clary is just a normal girl and then bam, gets thrown into the shadowhunter world where monsters excist. She has to get used to it because it is her life now.I love that because who wouldn’t want to be a shadowhunter.I know I do ! 🙂

  31. I don’t even know where to start. TMI opened such a large.. collection of books to me that I am never bored. Between TMI and TID the characters are dynamic, you can’t help but fall in love and the city scapes of England and New York make you want to travel to them just to see the sights that are mentioned. Cassie and her TMI series really got me into loving YA again and, while it takes me a while to read them as I don’t read that fast, I keep wanting more and more. Im excited for the other 3 series she has coming as I never want the Shadowhunter chronicles to end!!!!

  32. What I love about The Mortal Instruments series is its the whole reason I fell in love with reading. Its my most favorite series ever and Cassie is my favorite author. This series is not like any other, its spectacular and incredible; the list could go on forever. Its got action, romance, hilarious moments and heartbreaking moments. It will take you on a roller coaster of feels, but most importantly its got JACE!

  33. First of all i have to say to say that the reason i love TMI is because it is one of the first paranormal fictions book i read and it made me love the gender. Now for the thing i love it the most is because of the love stories: they are conplex and real and raw. and i am a sucker for that 😀

  34. I think some of my favorite things about these books is that they encompass so many different type of relationships- it makes it feel so much more genuine, than the typical romance where it seems no one has any faults. These characters are scarred, they have histories and dangerous and they find a way to love and have family bonds despite the hardships.

  35. What I love about The Mortal Instruments is that it has created this new world for me to dive into and get lost it. It has given me a place to go and be myself and has given me the want to share it with other people. The different characters and types of people they are is something that I haven’t seen before and I think it’s been such an emotional rollercoaster. I’m so sad that it’s all coming to an end.

  36. My favorite thing is how good the characters are developed in the story and how much Cassandra puts into detail of each character…that’s what connects all of the fans to the fandom and characters..

  37. By far my favourite thing about the books is the strong side characters. So often with novels, the side characters are flimsy, flat, plot-pushing, space-filling things with no real substance to them. The Mortal Instruments has always given a vast selection of side characters to fall in love with, and a strong selection (I adore quite a few of them, most notably Magnus Bane).

  38. I really enjoy the Mortal Instruments because when I first found them and read them, I put myself in a different world. A world that opened my eyes. It really has helped me through rough times and makes me forget about my own problems.

  39. my son loves everything about this series! All I have heard him talk about and he cant wait to get the last book!

  40. Well in short the characters made me so obsessed with the series and it was my first book that I became completely obsessed with when I first bought it!

  41. I love these books , their awesome .mi don’t know what’s going to happend after it’s all over I love how Cassandra Clare crated this world . After reading it you don’t look at the world the same, you wonder and imagine what if it’s all true . You put your self into a different world and get lost inside it . I love everything about the books I wish I could have them all and that hoodie is just awesome I really wish I could have it but the world is not a wish granting factory.

  42. The Mortal Instruments series was a very fast read for me, I had seen staple cover of City of Bones at Barnes and Nobles for years but thought that it wasn’t in my genre of books even though I was unaware of the plot or anything but a bit of a dark themed cover of a man with tattoo work on his back. Finally in 2012 I remember picking it up at the library out of curiosity, reading the synopsis and deciding to give it a try. I read the first four books in four days and was so enraptured in the style of writing how it was so visual and sarcastic and relatable while orbiting a supernatural and unique mythical subject. I love all of it and it’s an incredible story. The most important thing I got out of reading this series though, was it opened a door for me personally into certainly this supernatural genre but also judging a book by its content instead of assuming and pigeonholing its subject by the title or cover when really all books are not classified by a single genre or theme or subject. A great book is complex and is a mixture of a little bit of everything and The Mortal Instruments is exactly that to me.

  43. I love the series for the action, fighting, thrills, and the relationships because those are the components for a fantastic story!!!

  44. My favorite thug about the Mortal Instruments series has to be the romance and action that goes along with it. It’s all very intense and powerful. I love it!!

  45. At first a friend told me to read the first book, but then I get obsessed with all the books so i read them in a week , a week! Can you believe me? It was totally insane, I always have to wait a lot of time to have the books in fisic because they have to translate them but, the can’t sell them in the original language? That have always was my question racist for example, CoHF realizes in a couple of days and that means that in my country we are gonna have it until August or September is horrible so I’m gonna read it online, it kind of sad but it’s what we have.
I realy want the books because i want to know what happens in CoHF and because I wanna have them in the original language and the hoodie god, the hoddie is beautiful not as beautiful as the Herondales but is kind of close 😏

  46. I really love to humor and relationship between the characters. And then I just love how their whole universe is described! This is absolutely my favorite book series!

  47. The Mortal Instruments series had me waiting on the edge of my seat for each and every book. I love that Cassandra Clare has also written the Clockwork series. Please keep writing about Shadowhunters and the Netherworld. Thank you for allowing me to escape into their world. You truly bring it to life!!!

  48. I started liking the series after reading the 2nd book because it became an absolute adventure in a real-life fantasy world (an oxymoron!) and I’m so sad to say I’ll be having Jace withdrawals!

  49. I love the relationships/friendships! So much love and heartache and twisted feels…And ALL THE PLOT TWISTS AND DARKNESS AND SEBASTIAN WHAT THE HELL AND…everything. I love everything about it. 🙂

  50. I love that this series gave me something to love after Harry Potter. The characters feel so real and consistent, with solid development throughout the series. Each novel is so addicting and hard to put down. The writing is solid. The world of the Shadowhunters is unique and compelling. I just finished City of Heavenly Fire and I am sad that TMI has ended!!

  51. I love the mortal instruments series. I think the imaginative world Cassie Claire has created is so cool. I love the characters and the plot line. I love Jace and Clary. I think the books are so addicting. I read city of lost souls in two hours. I can’t wait to read this one.

  52. The sense of humor in serious situation is a good thing to have. Every one of the characters (especially Jace, Izzy, and Simon) have some snarky remark. Shadowhunters are one of the most creative out of every series ive ever read. MAGNUS IS SPARKLY! lol

  53. The mortal instruments series is one of my favorites. I love the whole world in this series, the world building is fantastic. And Clary is such a great heroine and protagonist, I love going through this journey with her. I also have a major crush on Jace and just love him to pieces. Just all the characters in this story are so interesting and complex you really care, and the villains are some of the most evil villains I’ve ever read. I could go on forever but those are some of the main ones 🙂

  54. Ahh it deleted my comment which was thought out so well!

The mortal instruments is on of my favorite series ever. The world building is so fantastic, it’s such a unique and amazing world that I always love seeing new elements of it come in. Clary is such a great heroine and protagonist, i love going through this journey with her. Also I have a major crush on Jace, I just love everything about him and him and clary are perfect together. The other characters are also amazing as well, they are so well fleshed out and interesting that you care so much about them, even chairman meow! And can we talk about the villains for a second?? This series has some of the worst villains (in the best way possible) of anything I’ve read. Could go on forever why I love this series so much, but I’ll leave it there 🙂

  55. I love the whole eorld of the Shadowhunters that she has built and how all of her stories weave together.

  56. I love the story and the battles and interactions/relationships of each character with one another.

  57. I love all the action and how relatable the characters are! I also love the fact that there are so many books so when one book ends, there’s always another book to read and the story continues.

  58. I love the stories Cassandra Clare spins out, and then weaves them together. She is a very talented author, and I can’t wait to read her next series!

  59. My favorite thing about the TMI series has to be Alec and Magnus’s relationship. They are my ultimate OTP and I ADORE them! 😀

  60. I love so many things about these books, from their complex and beautiful and imperfect and kickass and lovely characters, and the variety in them, to the very world created in them. I especially love the kickass women 🙂
