We continue our count-down to Dark Eden by Patrick Carman today, with another scary list — this time featuring other spooky books! Frankly, I think Dark Eden is honestly one of the scariest books I’ve read in a long time. But Pat’s list is a bit more classic …
Patrick Carman’s Top 5 Scary Books
1. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley– I’m completely nuts for this book.

2. Edgar Allen Poe – He’s not a book, but he is a category. No one creates chilling atmosphere like Poe. He kills.
3. The Turn of the Screw by Henry James – I love the set up, the unreliable narrator, and the timeless sense of doom.
4. The Stand by Stephen King – This book unnerved me for weeks. It blew me away.
5. Salem’s Lot by Stephen King – I was way too young to be reading this book when I did, but I loved it all the same.
Meanwhile, here’s a sneak peek at the app for Dark Eden, that takes the reading experience beyond the book:
