The Saturday Post: A Round-Up of the Week’s YA News

* TONS of spectacular new photos from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 were released this week. (And before you ask, we are working on new desktop wallpapers!) Here’s my favorite:

What are they talking about here???!?!?!

* Check out the fancy new cover for The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition, coming out in November.

* Check out this wonderful new trailer for The Apothecary by Maile Meloy! Maile has written several books for adults, but this is her first middle grade title — which she’ll be showing off at Wordstock Festival in October!

* Publisher’s Weekly also has a great interview with Maile about how she got into writing a book for young readers.

* Speaking of Wordstock authors & middle grade lit … author Lisa Schroeder has launched a series of videos in which she wears an awesome cupcake costume and does crazy things to get ready for her new MG book, Sprinkles & Secrets, a companion to It’s Raining Cupcakes:

* We LOVED Tabitha Suzuma’s edgy (and somewhat controversial) new YA novel, Forbidden — and we LOVE her new blog! Check out her latest posts for some very insightful thoughts on YA, and her writing.

* Do you love pictures of pretty bookshelves? Me too. Check out the new Tumblr blog Show Me Your Shelves, started by author Victoria Schwab. You can even send in your bookshelf pictures to be featured!

* Congrats to Suzanne Young, whose latest book A Need So Beautiful was nominated for a YALSA Reader’s Choice Award!
