Today we have Jordana R.’s entry featuring Meg Murray from A Wrinkle in Time and Jacob Black from The Twilight Saga:
Somehow my brother Charles Wallace had convinced me to meet someone, he said he needed help and I was the only one that could do it. Because I love me brother dearly I agreed to it, though by now I was having second thoughts.
I had been walking for exactly ten minutes like he had asked so I stopped an waited for someone to appear.Minutes passed and I saw nothing. I turned around to leave when I almost fainted.
An enormous dog the size of a bear had crept out of the darkness behind me. I stood frozen, fighting the urge to run, as Charles had warned me would happen. Then I remembered what he had told me.
“Change back,” I whispered shaking out of my wits.
The wolf looked at me and I suddenly felt safe, I wasn’t scared anymore, I felt sorrow for him, I could see in his eyes he was suffering greatly. He retreated into the darkness, and what came back, I was not prepared for.
A beautifully built boy with his chest uncovered emerged back.
“Hi …” he spoke as he scratched his head. “I’m Jacob.”
“I’m Meg,” I said out of breath.
My body decided I had too much emotions in too little time and it caved.
Jacob sprang quickly towards me and held me before my knees gave in. He was so close I felt the amazing warmth of his breath. He looked at me and we stood in that position for a while.
“Wow,” he whispered.
“Yeah,” was all I could say back.
The hurt had disappeared from his face, replaced by bewilderment. He set me on my feet and took a step back. I could not keep my eyes of him, nor did I want to.
“I can’t believe this, your brother said this would happen, but I thought he was kind of crazy.” Jacob laughed heartedly, and I felt the warmth of his laugh coursing through my body.
He walked to me and grabbed me by the waist, examining me. I let him have his way, I loved the feel of his skin against my body.
“I was broken hearted and lost, your brother found me, he said I was going to feel okay as soon as I saw you, and he was right … tell me … do you believe in love at first sight?” He was suddenly distressed
I was flabbergasted I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know what I had seen, who he was, or what he was. There were so many questions in my head, yet the answer to his question was really clear.
“Then, is it safe to say … ” He bit his lip. “That you love me?”
“Yes,” I whispered.
Jacob sighed and kissed me.
