During the month of April, we will be celebrating National Poetry Month by providing one new creative writing prompt daily.
We urge you to challenge yourself to complete every single writing prompt… think about it. If you make that happen, you’ll have 30 drafts by the end of the month, at the very least. More than halfway to a complete poetry collection!
Creative Writing Prompt #1
A Poem In Parts
Write a poem in several parts, one for each member of a set.
Examples: the four seasons, the stations of the cross, the seven deadly sins, the five senses, the seven colors of the rainbow, the four suits in a deck of cards.
Or create a group that uniquely represents a part of you: the four main landmarks in your town; the month, day, and year of your birth; the rings in your jewelry box; the shoes in your closet (for fellow shoe-aholics, you may want to pare this choice down to a few precise selections rather than attempting an exhaustive survey).
