Not me.
It’s home, and I have one last shot to make Wren Daniels see me as more than just her brother’s best friend.

This one felt like the perfect combination of two beloved tropes — brother’s best friend, and friends-to-lovers (with a dash of “fake relationship” thrown in for good measure). I loved the history between Wren and Foster, and seeing them reconnect instantly sucked me into the story. Plus, the LOLs. Seriously, few writers can get me to literally laugh out loud more than Teagan Hunter. Her books are an utter delight because they so fabulously combine romance and humor.
I adore the friends-to-lovers trope, but so often it seems as if it’s the woman pining after the guy (or at least both parties secretly pining after each other). I loved that A Pizza My Heart features a guy pining after the girl, and unabashedly pursuing her. Foster isn’t fighting his feelings, or trying to wait patiently. No, he’s done with all that. He knows what he wants (Wren) and he’s going to make sure she knows it.
Seeing Wren come to terms with this new version of her friend makes for entertaining fodder, all while she struggles to understand these weird new feelings of romance and attraction for a guy she’s known most of her life. She’s never thought of him romantically … until she does.
Hunter has such a gift for writing comedic moments, and she pulls out some real gems in A Pizza My Heart … one scene in particular involving a bath mat is quite memorable. I laughed a TON while reading this book, so combined with the sweet romance and the steamy love scenes, this book was a total winner for me.
