The Wicked Deep: Styled by Books

One of my favorite recent reads was the deliciously cool The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw, a book that mingles a touch of magic with the moody Oregon coast and a centuries-old curse. This book is seriously cool (and seriously GORGEOUS – the finished first edition hardcovers have the most amazing foil details on the naked hardcovers), and so I was of course inspired to put together a little Styled by Books feature for it.

Since the coast itself was a bit of a drive, I headed down to the waterfront of the Willamette River about 15 minutes from my house to shoot these photos. I was hoping for an appropriately gray and moody day – but after waiting out a serious downpour in the car to take these photos, the sun came out gloriously. So. Here we are.

My dress is from eShakti, and while this dress is no longer available, here are a few other dresses that would also look pretty cool with this book. This particular dress, however, has a really cool detail on the back that I’m obsessed with:

If you haven’t read this book yet, I definitely recommend it. You can read my full review here, and the book is in stores now.
