Shadowhunters: Styled by Books

This year marks 10 years since the publication of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, the first book in her blockbuster Shadowhunters series — which has spawned over a dozen books, three series (and counting), numerous short story anthologies, and a number of companion/collector’s books – not to mention a major motion picture and a TV series. *whew*

Just a few weeks ago, the gorgeous 10th anniversary edition of City of Bones was released – and I thought a Styled by Books photo shoot was the perfect way to celebrate!

What better way to show off your love of Shadowhunters than with a little “every day cosplay”? No need to strap on swords and steles, just a few carefully placed temporary tattoo Runes and your best black clothes, and you’re good to go for this one.

I didn’t want to get too costume-y with this one, but I had to start with black – obviously. I paired my favorite black sweater with some comfy jeans and my heavy duty black boots. Naturally, I needed some Shadowhunter style – so I turned to these seriously awesome temporary tattoo Runes from Bookmark’d Tattoos . If you want your own, you can shop for just one or two Runes, or a complete set of 8 in medium or large sizes. NOVEL10 will save you 10% on any order from Bookmark’d Tattoos.

And of course, look at how GORGEOUS the anniversary edition of City of Bones is:

Many thanks to my friend Autumn (@paperrdolls) for braving the rain and the cold with me to take these photos.

For the comments: What’s your favorite Shadowhunter book? Favorite character? I think I most love the Infernal Devices trilogy, and my favorite character is Church, naturally.
