The official blog tour for Renegades by Marissa Meyer stops by Novel Novice today – and I’m so devilishly pleased to be part of the Anarchists team for this blog tour. You may think we’re the villians … but are we really?
For today’s post, I put together a Styled by Books ensemble inspired by the striking cover artwork for Renegades.
Since the cover is primarily a deep blue with pops of red and gray, I started with one of my favorite eShakti dresses in navy blue – then layered on the red accessories.
I added a bright red belt, a jewel-toned red necklace, and a bold red lip color. My hair was a conveniently-colored accessory, too! And I represented Team Anarchists by sporting the set of four buttons provided by the folks at Fierce Reads. (There’s a Renegades set, too — and you can choose which set you want to receive when you pre-order – but honestly, why wouldn’t you choose the Anarchists?)
And since the book takes place in an urban setting, we headed down to the Tilikum Crossing in Portland for this photoshoot! It’s a cool bridge that only allows pedestrians and public transportation vehicles – so no private cars, etc. The bold lines of the bridge definitely reminded by of the graphic feel to the Renegades cover, and I thought it made the perfect backdrop for this shoot.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

That is a neat post. I like how you put your outfit together to go along with the book cover. The book sounds interesting too. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend!
I’m not freaking out about this. Nope, not at all. Totally chill
I never knew blue and red can look so good together! You look stunning in that outfit Sara!
Thank you so much, Jess!
