That’s how it felt when I read Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller; a book that spoke to my deep love of pirates (in the theme park ride/Johnny Depp/fun-filled fictional type — not the actual raping and murdering type), kick-ass heroines, and the enemies-turned-lovers trope.
Which is why, when I finished the book, I stalked Tricia online, professed my love for her book in an embarrassing vomit of words, and then proposed a crazy idea which has become this … Daughter of the Pirate King Takeover Week. I love the excitement & adventure in pirate books. They seem like they enjoy what they’re doing.
I love reading more about pirates. I really haven’t read much about them.

Pirates get to break all the rules.
Pirate stories are full of action and adventure which I love to venture into in the books I read. I love the idea of being at sea, although I’d have to be on a cruise ship (I’m not cut out for rough sea life). I also keep picturing Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom as we love watching Pirates of the Carribean, so my pirate ideas are a bit skewed, but I’m not complaining!
I like the thrill of the unknown at sea.
I think it’s the freedom of the pirate lifestyle that seems the most fun to me. Free to go where we want and do whatever we like, that’s my kind of agenda. Thanks for the chance to win the book.
The book sounds awesome and i think the pirate story from this point of view sounds like a fun and interesting read.
The fact that the book doesn’t take place in just one location.
Pirate stories are more than just adventure. It’s life on the sea, where the entire world is open and ready to be seen. There is a freedom in the pirate life itself that extends to the characters. Because of that, they tend to be more relaxed and comfortable; they have the freedom to be whatever/whoever they choose.

I love pirates stories because they are always traveling to new lands and new adventures. There is never a dull moment.
I love the suspense.

Pirate stories are awesome because anything basically goes: adventure, epicness, badassery, all things well and good (aside from when things go inevitably wrong–as they tend to often do especially with stories of the sea)!
