Novel Novice 
The tools I would use if I went undercover would be a pen that doubled as a skeleton key, a button that would be equipped with GPS, and a ring that had a camera and infrared nightlight.
I would definitely use a camera of some sort. You need evidence to show the police, and what better proof than a video or pictures?

Flashlight, gloves, hat, sunglasses
I would bring a backpack with twizzlers, flashlight, blanket, poptarts, water bottle, compass and a map!!
