I couldn’t be more excited about today’s exclusive cover reveal — not only because it’s from April Henry, one of our favorite authors here at Novel Novice, but because it is a GORGEOUS, chilling cover. AND we have behind-the-scenes photos from the cover shoot, too!
But first, here’s a note & the synopsis from April herself:
People have asked for a sequel to Girl, Stolen, for years, but I always intended for it to be a stand alone book. But never say never, because the characters of Griffin and Cheyenne wouldn’t leave me alone. Plus I wanted a chance to put some of the skills I’ve learned in the last couple of years—like Brazilian jiujitsu and how to get out of handcuffs—in a book.
The new novel, Count All Her Bones, comes out May 2, 2017. Here’s a teaser:
Six months ago, Griffin Sawyer meant to steal a car, but he never meant to steal the girl asleep on the back seat. Panicked, he took her home. His father Roy decided to hold Cheyenne—who is blind—for ransom. Griffin helped her escape, and now Roy is awaiting trial. As they prepare to testify, Griffin and Cheyenne reconnect and make plans to meet. But the plan goes horribly wrong—Cheyenne gets captured by Roy’s henchmen; this time for the kill. Can Cheyenne use her new martial arts skills to free herself? And is Griffin a pawn or a player in this deadly chase?
And now … THE COVER!

Crazy chilling, no? Here’s more about the cover design process, along with some cool behind-the-scenes images from the photo shoot:

Super cool! Henry’s books are very popular in my middle school classroom, especially since we got to go see her at Powell’s last spring. Kids will be stoked about the sequel.
