In her new YA novel The Bridge from Me to You, author Lisa Schroeder combines poetry chapters and prose chapters to tell the alternating stories of Lauren and Colby. For this month’s writing contest, we want to challenge you to combine poetry and prose!

Write a short piece of flash fiction (try to keep it around 250-500 words) that combines poetry and prose to tell your story. Be creative & have fun! Submit your entry using the entry form here.

The Prize

One winner will receive a copy of The Bridge from Me to You, courtesy of Lisa herself!

Two runners-up will receive a signed bookplate & a bookmark.

The Rules

  • Keep stories to 250-500 words
  • Use proper spelling & grammar
  • Must combine poetry AND prose – use both!
  • U.S. only
  • Use the entry form

The Deadline

All entries are due by midnight (PT) on Sunday, August 31st.
