Today, I wanted to let you guys know about a pretty AMAZING project going on right now featuring some of your favorite authors.
The incredibly talented photographer Lauren Zurchin is in the process of creating a 2016 fantasy calendar, featuring 12+ authors. This is the second such calendar Lauren has created — the first one included authors like Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Lauren Kate, Lauren Oliver, Maggie Stiefvater, Gregory Maguire, Christopher Paolini, and more.
This year’s line-up? Insane. These authors will all be featured in the 2016 calendar:
- Leigh Bardugo (The Grisha Series)
- Jim Butcher (The Harry Dresden Files, The Codex Alera)
- Melissa de la Cruz (The Blue Bloods series, Witches of East End)
- Tony DiTerlizzi (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Â The WondLa series)
Kami Garcia (The Beautiful Creatures novels, The Legion Series)- Lev Grossman (The Magicians series)
- Robin Hobb (The Liveship Traders Trilogy, The Rain Wild Chronicles)
- Tahereh Mafi (The Shatter Me Series)
- Garth Nix (The Abhorsen Trilogy, The Keys to the Kingdom Series)
- Ransom Riggs (The Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children Series)
- Margaret Stohl (The Beautiful Creatures novels, The Icons Series)
- Scott Westerfeld (The Leviathan Trilogy, The Uglies Series)
Incredible, right? But now we need your help! Lauren is running a Kickstarter to fund the project. Go HERE to support it, and you can pick up some amazing signed gear from your favorite participating authors – even a signed copy of the calendar itself!

Wow this is cool, such a great idea 🙂
Does this mean you won’t make the usual calendar with the books? It seems nice although I do not know any of those authors from the 2016 but two…

The desktop wallpaper calendar is still coming! The BEYOND WORDS calendar is a separate project, not affiliated with Novel Novice — just one we love and support because we think it’s cool, and we’re friends with the amazing photographer behind the project, Lauren Zurchin. 🙂
Okay, thank you!!
