The Night Walkers Blog Tour for Paranoia by J.R. Johansson & a Giveaway

In my excitement preparing for the release of Paranoia I decided to take Paranoia (my advanced reader copy) on tour with me.

So what happened was originally I planned to record video of me dancing in various places with Paranoia…but well LIFE HAPPENED and so I only ever recorded myself a few times.  Paranoia was such a crazy guy that he wanted me to take his photos everywhere we went.  And thus began the #paranoiatour with Paranoia and myself on the Bolt Bus headed for Portland.  What did we end up doing? Well you will have to continue reading and looking at fun photos to see! (Click on any of the photos to enlarge and read the original twitter captions)

Paranoia 2014-06-03 at 11.47.14 PM

I was pretty scared of Paranoia when we started the journey as seen below in my tweet.

I was full of ideas as we were heading to Portland for where #paranoiatour could visit.

Paranoia was annoyed that I was listening to music and wouldn’t share.  So I thought I’d let him listen to some music that I really enjoy…Two Door Cinema Club. (Personally this is one of my favorite tweets from the #paranoiatour)

While Paranoia took a nap on the bus I read a book.  Before either of us knew it we were in Vancouver!  I had to show Paranoia the city as we were crossing the bridge.  As you can see he was pretty excited to see us cross the bridge to Oregon.

Here we are in Portland…rolling through the city.  Paranoia made me hold him up the entire last 15 minutes so he could see. Now don’t go thinking that just because Paranoia wanted to see the city he was happy with what he saw.  In the photo on the right he is quite upset by the mural that I found to be colorful.Screen Shot 2014-06-03 at 11.49.29 PMScreen Shot 2014-06-03 at 11.49.42 PM

We made it off the bus and continued our #paranoiatour to Pioneer Square where I showed him how far it was to Tipperary, Ireland and Australia.  Paranoia was only upset because we couldn’t fly to either place right away.Screen Shot 2014-06-03 at 11.49.56 PM Screen Shot 2014-06-03 at 11.54.09 PM

After we had taken the fun photos above it was time to jump on the Max train and then the bus to go to visit my Aunt’s first grade class.  Paranoia seemed a bit nervous about riding the Max since we have to ride in a 2 mile tunnel with no cell phone coverage but he made it through without his screams scaring too many people.

When the children went outside for their lunch recess I read to Paranoia while he tried out the desks and then he decided he would help me with a fun task…

Driving and drinking…in the correct order. You do not DRINK and THEN drive…haha  Of course technically Paranoia was drinking and since he wasn’t driving it was all good.

After dinner with some lovely authors and bloggers it was time for an Author Event at Powell’s Bookstore in Portland.  Paranoia and I were there to see Jenny Han and Morgan Matson.

While the dates changed it was due to the fact that I was up after midnight…not because Paranoia hid all night.Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.01.44 AM Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.01.50 AM Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.01.58 AM

Paranoia fesses up to what REALLY happened at dinner…Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.02.12 AM

The next morning it was time to go visit my Uncle for lunch and some fun around downtown Portland.  Paranoia was not impressed with the early time my alarm went off among other issues on our way to see my Uncle…

My Uncle works at the newly renovated Federal Building…where he was happy to take us on tour.  But then we needed to visit the bathroom…Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.03.22 AM

After our visit to the Federal Building we headed North a few blocks so I could finally complete my mother’s Christmas/Mother’s Day present of canvas prints for her to hang on her wall.  Paranoia was a big help after he realized that we weren’t there for photos of himself.

To make it up to Paranoia I took him to the park where Grimm filmed their Christmas episode and THEN he spotted our friend Holly who had also come down for the Author Event!  As you can see they are close friends.

Course you can’t be in Portland without visiting Powell’s City of Books location downtown.

OOO look who Paranoia found!

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.12.36 AM

Okay so a visit to Portland is also not a COMPLETE visit if you don’t walk over to VooDoo.  So Paranoia tried to eat the sign…he said it looked real?Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.13.02 AM

After having to hike through a downpour we found some pretty flowers.  Can you tell Paranoia was taken with them? He is screaming for joy!Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.13.41 AM

And then it was time to go….

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.13.55 AM Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.14.20 AM

As you can tell Paranoia was difficult to console on the train, bus and then Bolt Bus journey back to Seattle.

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.14.37 AM

But I found reading Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson to him actually calmed him enough for him to relax against me.

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.14.58 AM

Paranoia was tuckered out when we arrived back at the house so he jumped in bed while I unpacked.  He is a LOUD SNORING GUY!Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 12.15.14 AM

Wondering about Paranoia?

With Every Night of Blissful Sleep Darkness Grows Paranoia-finalInside Him.
In the aftermath of the events that nearly killed him, Parker Chipp is trying to learn to cope better with life as a Watcher. And it seems to be working…until he wakes up in jail with a hangover and 12 hours of missing time. Darkness has somehow taken control and Parker doesn’t have a clue how to stop him. He finds an unlikely ally in Jack, the mysterious guy in the motorcycle jacket who offers to help Parker master his abilities as a Watcher. But even as they practice, the darkness inside Parker is getting more and more powerful, taking over Parker’s body and doing everything he can to destroy Parker’s life.

When Jack reveals that there is another kind of Night Walker, known as a Taker, Parker starts to wonder if the strange things happening in Oakville are more than just a coincidence. After all, people are more than just sleepwalking. They’re emptying their savings accounts with no memory of doing so, wandering into strange parts of town and disappearing, they’re even killing other people–all in their sleep. If Parker wants to find out what’s happening or have any hope of seeing his father again, he’ll have to defy Jack and put his own life in danger…because the more he learns about these other Night Walkers, the more certain he becomes that his life isn’t the only one that could be lost.
