Countdown to Dangerous Creatures Contest

I feel a certain nostalgia for the Beautiful Creatures books – given that the very first book in the series was also the very first ever title we featured as a Book of the Month, back when we launched Novel Novice in January 2010. It’s like we’ve “grown up together,” of sorts.

dangerous creaturesSo of course that means I am so excited for the May 20th release of Dangerous Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the first in a new spin-off series featuring beloved characters Link and Ridley.

Here’s more about Dangerous Creatures:

A new series returns to the world of Beautiful Creatures. Some loves are cursed…others are dangerous.

Ridley Duchannes will be the first to tell you that she’s a bad girl. She’s Dark. She’s a Siren. You can never trust her, or even yourself when she’s around. Lucky for her, Wesley “Link” Lincoln can never seem to remember that; quarter Incubus or not, his heart is Mortal when it comes to Ridley. When Link heads to New York City to start a music career, Ridley goes along for the ride-and she has her own reasons. As if leaving small-town Gatlin for the big city, trying to form a band, and surviving life with a partially reformed Siren isn’t hard enough already, Link soon learns he has a price on his head that no Caster or Mortal can ever pay.

Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthors of Beautiful Creatures, are back and casting another magical spell. Their signature mixture of mystery, suspense, and romance, along with a dash of fun and danger, will pull fans in and leave them begging for more.

  1. I like Link and let me tell you why (well I kind of have too that’s the point right). Link when first introduced was a side character that was some sort of comic relief. I didn’t think much of him at first. He seemed just like every other guy in my high school, all into chicks and bands. But as time went on and his character development that turned him from protagonist’s best friend to a protagonist in his own right, made me extremely happy. I’m actually stunned by how much I’ve come to like Link. But he’s a very good character to relate to, and his story-lines (both independent and romantic) are wonderfully written and I just find myself very drawn to him.

  2. I really like Ridley because even though she’s tough she really isn’t. She has a heart of gold at it’s center :).

  3. I like Ridley because she’s got the bad girl thing going on and I just think she’s an amazing character

  4. I entered. I really hope I win something, for once… Is it just me, or is Ridley a lot like Sally Jupiter in Before Watchmen? In personality, I mean, not in situation or powers.

  5. I really like Marion, because she’s so quiet and out of the way at first, but she knows almost absolutely everything, and is actually pretty powerful. Plus, she gets to play with books all day long 🙂

  6. Thank you so much for the cool prizes. I won second place but it sure feels like first. I got my book, shirt etc today in the mail and they are awesome. You absolutely rock.

  7. I won 3rd place and my package arrived the other day :). Thank you SO much. I really love the t-shirt ;).
