Today we continue our exclusive Q&A with Unbreakable author Kami Garcia. Thanks again for stopping by, Kami!
What was the single coolest thing you discovered while researching UNBREAKABLE?
There were so many, but one of the coolest things I came across was the John Zaffis Paranormal Museum. It’s particularly cool because if you have a haunted object in your house, you can mail it to him and he’ll keep it in the museum.
What sort of things influenced UNBREAKABLE?
The world of the Legion is a blend of my favorite topics and literary elements: the paranormal, ghost hunting, suspense, romance, secret societies, history, superstition, and things that go bump in the night. The influences came from everywhere—the books I read; ghost stories I’d heard; my own superstitions; my Southern roots; “Lady Day,” a painting by artist Chris Berens; and music from the White Stripes, the Cure, Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, and so many more. The question really is: What didn’t influence me?
What’s your 140-character “twitter pitch” to convince people to read UNBREAKABLE?
Supernatural meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer with hot identical twins, secret societies, and no vampires.
Tune in for part 3 on Friday!
