The Blessed by Tonya Hurley: Religious Writing Contest

Posted November 5, 2012 by Sara 3 Comments

Today, we’re launching our very cool writing contest in honor of The Blessed by Tonya Hurley, our November Book of the Month. And since Tonya’s book is based in religion — so is this month’s writing contest!

The Contest

Use a story or element from religion (any religion is fine!) to inspire your 250-500 word flash fiction. The religious aspect of your story should be obvious, so be sure to illustrate your twist or adaptation within your writing.

Submit your story using the Novel Novice + The Blessed Religious Writing Contest Entry Form. Up to three (3) winners will receive one of the following prizes …

Grand Prize:

A finished copy of The Blessed, a full-size The Blessed candle, a The Blessed St. Lucy bracelet, frankincense, and an incense burner.

Second Prize:

A finished copy of The Blessed and a half-size The Blessed candle

Third Prize:

An ARC of The Blessed

The Rules:

  • One entry per person
  • U.S. only
  • Use the entry form
  • Entries must be between 250-500 words … no shorter, no longer, please!
  • Use proper grammar & spelling

The Deadline:

All entries are due by midnight (PT) on Friday, November 30th.
