Happy NaNoWriMo day! Have you all gotten to a great start? Got that excitement fueling your writing? Build on that excitement and write as much as you can this week. The more words you can bank now, the bigger cushion you’ll have for later in the month if you need it.
By the end of this week, you should have written at least 12,500 words. If your target word count for your story is 50,000, you should be at the end of Act I at that point. If you plan on your story being longer than 50,000 (even if you don’t write them all in November), adjust accordingly.
Dawn’s Rise has a list of week 1 tips here. And more general NaNo tips here.
Two of our staff members are participating in NaNoWriMo this year: Christie and Stephanie L. Add us as buddies if you want, and leave your name in the comments so we can add you, too!
For the comments: Are you starting strong? Do you need an extra boost of inspiration? Did you attend any local kick-off parties? Are you planning to attend any local write-ins over the month?
I added you Christie and Stephanie as my buddies! This is my first NaNo and my screen name is Lieder Madchen. 🙂
I’m starting off a bit slow, but I’m making great progress so far. Only 587 words, but I should pick things up by the end of the week.
Good luck writing!!
I am writing too this year, this is my first time. I am really excited about it. please add me as a buddy, goodness knows I need the support 🙂 My screen name is moonlightfan78
added you guys 🙂
Yesterday did not go so well for me. Issues with the kids meant I didn’t get to sit down to write until 11:00. I ended up with 889 words. Today has been a bit better and I’m over 2000 total now, with plans to write more tonight (hopefully!)…
Oh, also, on Monday I changed my mind about the story I’m writing. Instead of the YA novel I was planning I’m now writing a fan fiction story that’s been in my head for a few months. I just didn’t feel ready to start my YA novel yet.
Hi! im new!
