It’s time for today’s sweet treat on our countdown to Sprinkles & Secrets by Lisa Schroeder, in stores September 20th. I’m particularly fond of today’s treat because it has COFFEE in it — and there’s one thing someone who works a graveyard shift (like me) loves, it’s anything with caffeine in it. This delicious treat is courtesy of Kristina Springer, author of such books as The Esspressologist and the upcoming Just Your Average Princess.
I’m a huge coffee fan and make drinks all the time. When I was writing The Espressologist I gave all of my characters a favorite coffee drink. Here’s the main character’s (mine too!) favorite drink.
Jane’s Nonfat Iced No Whip Mocha
1) Squeeze a decent amount of chocolate syrup into the bottom of a tall glass. Use your judgment but 4 or 5 swirls is good.
2) Fill the glass with skim milk.
3) Make two shots of espresso. For fresher espresso, grind the espresso beans just before use.
4) Pour the shots of espresso into the glass of milk.
6) Add ice.
