The Saturday Post: BIG news, book trailers, photos & more

* First of all, HUGE news here at Novel Novice … our own staff member Tiffany Truitt is going to be a published author! She has signed a three-book deal for her YA dystopian series with Entangled Publishing, and the first book comes out in March! Be sure to check out Tiffany’s blog and follow her on Twitter for the latest updates!

* Check out the amazing trailer Maggie Stiefvater released this week for her upcoming new book, The Scorpio Races:

And here’s more about The Scorpio Races:

It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die.

At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.

Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

* The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is featured in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, and Twilight Examiner has a slideshow of all the images from the magazine. Lots of new pictures from the movie!

* Lionsgate has also been releasing new photos from The Hunger Games movie … check out all of the photos so far at Hunger Games Examiner!\

* Lionsgate also announced that the movie adaptation of Catching Fire will be released on November 22, 2013!

* If you’re in the Charleston, South Carolina, check out the new YALL FEST — an all YA lit festival coming this November, and being organized by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl!

* Cassie Clare released two steamy (& spoilery) excerpts from her upcoming books, in honor of Jace winning the YA Crush Tourney. First, check out the DSCS (“Dirty Sexy Club Scene”) from City of Lost Souls and this encounter between Tessa & ???? in Clockwork Prince. (Again, both are VERY spoilery.)
