It’s finally here — Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is now in theaters across the globe. It’s been ten years since the first Harry Potter movie hit theaters (and even longer since the first book was published in the U.K. in 1997 & in the U.S. in 1998). So while it’s really exciting to finally see the last movie, it’s a tad bittersweet. It really is the end of an era.
I caught a midnight showing last night, and I can tell you that this final installment is truly spectacular. It’s beautifully filmed, brilliantly acted, and is overall just a perfect culmination to the entire series. Watching it was an emotional experience. I cried. I laughed. I cheered and clapped. And now I can’t wait to go see it again, and experience it once more. I am sad to say goodbye to this series, but I will always cherish it. And it’s one I will continue to come back to — because as J.K. Rowling said, “Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
