The Saturday Post: Rock the Drop & Teen Lit Day Edition

We have a special edition of The Saturday Post this week at Novel Novice, in honor of this past week’s Teen Lit Day (it was on Thursday) and Rock the Drop.

What is Rock the Drop, you say?

It’s this brilliant and fantastically fun initiative headed up by the folks at Readergirlz, in which you are encouraged to slap a Rock the Drop bookplate on a YA book (any YA book) and leave it somewhere out in the public to be found by a potential reader. Fine folks all over the country participated in Rock the Drop this past Thursday for Teen Lit Day, and so did the staff here at Novel Novice. In fact, I even recruited some of the Wordstock Festival volunteers to help me spread the book love out across Portland, Oregon. Stephanie dropped her books across Mobile, Alabama. And Tiffany took hers on a road trip from Virginia to Florida, her sunny spring break destination.

Here are some photos from our Rock the Drop adventures:

  1. I wish I would’ve known about this. Sounds fantastic! I also wish I would’ve found Illusions. I’m waiting for that one. I<3 that series. I hope those people know how lucky they were.
