Beastly: Alex Flinn’s Book Comes to the Big Screen

If you’re like me, then you’re a sucker for a good fairy tale — and even better, a fairy tale with a modernized twist. That’s exactly what you’ll find inside the pages of Alex Flinn’s Beastly — which is now a major motion picture. The movie adaptation of Beastly, starring Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens & Neil Patrick Harris, hits theaters today. Anybody else heading to the box office to check it out?

Here’s more about the book by Alex Flinn, plus the movie trailer:

I am a beast.

A beast!

Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright. I am a monster.

You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll, stay this way forever ruined unless I can break the spell.

Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I’ll tell you how I became perfectly…beastly.

  1. So excited for this! I know it will be different from the book, but it will get kids talking more about lit and reading more! Our high school’s reading club always organizes a private showing for readers – and it is always a blast!!

  2. I can’t wait to see this! I love Alex Pettyfer and he was awesome in I Am Number Four. I still don’t think Vanessa Hudgens should be the girl, but it’s going to be a great movie anyway.
