As part of our earlier, week-long feature on Alexander Gordon Smith’s Escape from Furnace series, we asked you to tell us your worst nightmare. Two winners were chosen at random — each to receive copies of the first two books in the series!
Winner #1 is Linda S., who wrote:
My worst nightmare is about being buried alive.
When I was younger, my grandma told me about a dream she had about being in a casket and they were closing the lid and she was trying to tell them she was still alive.
Later after she died, I was in the funeral home when the funeral director closed her casket lid and I remembered her dream. Ever since I have an on-going dread of being buried alive or trapped and no one can find me.
It’s so vivid, I try to make light of this feeling by calling it my Timmy-trapped-in-well nightmare.
Winner #2 is Angela S., who wrote:
My worst nightmare started off being just a disturbing dream, until it started to become recurring. I have had a dream where my teeth fall out so many times that it has become a nightmare with each dream putting me into stranger situations. Usually it starts with me being somewhere with a group of people and my mouth feels funny. When I reach up to feel it, a tooth falls out and blood starts to gush. Before I can get the blood stopped, my other teeth are falling out, some crumbling. I usually wake up scared to death, not knowing how to stop myself from drowning in my blood. I shiver just thinking about it!
Congrats!

Thank you so much! I’m thrilled!
I read the first book, Lockdown and loved it (even if it reminded me of my nightmare or maybe because of it)
I’m really looking forward to reading Solitary. Squee!
All that talk of nightmares is giving me the chills. Congrats winners.
I wanted to let you know that I received the books today. Yeah!
I can’t wait to read them and I really appreciate you hosting the giveaway. Thank you so very much!
