Over the last year, Novel Novice has exponentially increased my awareness and adoration for exceptional young adult literature.  Novel Novice has provided me with engaging and informative book reviews, author interviews, and other entertaining information.  I have always loved reading, but I wasn’t always able to stay current on the most sought after titles.   Thankfully, Novel Novice has bridged that gap!

Being an avid reader, I love to get lost in a story and feel the characters emotions as they are conveyed through the text.  I enjoy stories that have meaningful plot devices and language that challenges me to become a better reader.  Novel Novice is always my first stop when choosing a novel.  The staff of Novel Novice is very open-minded when they are reviewing a novel, letting the book speak for itself.  Most of the literature I have read this past year was, at one point, featured on Novel Novice.  Had it not been for Novel Novice, I would have missed out on some outstanding stories and would not have been introduced to some amazing authors.

I am also a middle school teacher, and one of my goals, as a teacher, is to pass along the love of reading to my students.  Novel Novice has had many useful project ideas and features on how novels can be used in the classroom.  Novel Novice has helped to improve my creativity in the classroom and has helped me put the most current and provocative young adult literature into the hands of my students.  Because I have enjoyed so many of the stories that Novel Novice has covered, I started a book club for my middle school students.  It has been a delight reading a book at the same time as some of my students, sharing our favorite or no-so-favorite plot points, characters, and ideas on how the story related to real life.  It is very rewarding, as a teacher, to see what kind of message my students can derive from a novel.  Novel Novice has given me a place to start in order to find thoughtful, meaningful, and entertaining literature for both my students and myself.

In conclusion, I would like to applaud Novel Novice for an outstanding first year!  The Novel Novice website is one of my most favorite places to visit.  I sincerely thank Novel Novice for all of their hard work and dedication to great literature and the amazing authors who write the stories.  Novel Novice is a star in the literary world, and I hope that it continues to shine for many years to come.  I’m excited to see what Novel Novice has in store for us this year and in the future!
