Contest of Epic: Runner-Up #3 of 5

Today we present our third of five runners-up in our Contest of Epic, which we launched to celebrate our one year anniversary and say thanks to our loyal followers. Today’s winner is Elizabeth T.:

Honestly, if it wasn’t for Novel Novice, I wouldn’t be reading YA Fiction right now. I stumbled across it one day through its sister site, Twilight Novel Novice, when doing some research for a Twilight event for my library. I was literally *hooked*. I generally just skipped over the YA section when it came to reading, but I started reading a couple of reviews, perusing some interviews, and I realized, I was missing out on something major in the reading world. What kind of reader is more enthusiastic, more supportive, and the least judgmental than those who read YA? None! Novel Novice helped me to see what a wonderful, supportive community is out there, and that it’s definitely okay to like YA and not be a teenager.

If it wasn’t for a Novel Novice writing contest, I wouldn’t be practicing writing almost every day. It gave me my spark back, and it introduced me to, now, one of my favorite writers.

I check Novel Novice literally every day at work, because I have yet to find a better YA blog for what’s going on in the teen literature world. I’ve used several things from NN to help promote the teen program within my library – not to mention all the fantastic books I’ve been able to order thanks to their reviews! It’s my first stop of the day, and the last thing I check before I go to bed.

If it wasn’t for Novel Novice, I wouldn’t have started my own book blog this year. I wouldn’t have met some wonderful, wonderful bloggers. I wouldn’t be reading all the amazing books I am now. Really, you guys changed the way I read. Happy anniversary, and please don’t ever ever disappear!
