Want more (fallen) angels? Check out these other books!

If reading Hush, Hush and Crescendo make you think, “Fallen Angels are the new black” (like us), then you’ll want to check out the books in today’s post. Because we’re betting we’re not the only ones who discovered a hankering for more (fallen) angels after Patch. Here are some other books about angels and fallen angels that you may want to check out next:

Fallen by Lauren Kate

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

(Be sure to check out the sequel, as well: Torment.)

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings.

But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods. Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare

There are three books already out in this series, with three more on the way (#4 comes out in March) — PLUS the new trilogy of prequels, The Infernal Devices. Book 1 of the prequels is out now, Clockwork Angel, and two more are on the way. Here is the synopsis for Book 1 in The Mortal Instruments series, City of Bones:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder – much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing – not even a smear of blood – to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know….

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

The Fallen by Thomas E. Sniegoski

On his eighteenth birthday, Aaron begins to hear strange voices and is convinced he is going insane. But having moved from foster home to foster home, Aaron doesn’t know whom he can trust. He wants to confide in the cute girl from class, but fears she’ll confirm he’s crazy.

Then a mysterious man begins following Aaron. He knows about Aaron’s troubled past and his new powers. And he has a message for Aaron: As the son of a mortal and an angel, Aaron has been chosen to redeem the Fallen.

Aaron tries to dismiss the news and resists his supernatural abilities. But he must accept his newfound heritage — and quickly. For the dark powers are gaining strength, and are hell-bent on destroying him…

Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell

This book is coming in January 2011 from Harper Collins:

The first book in a dark, edgy new angel series about a girl who finds herself forced to choose sides in the battle between fallen angels, even if that means going against the boy she loves.

When Ellie Faneuil first sees Michael Chase she feels an instantaneous connection. But she does not realize how much they have in common, including the ability fly and to see what others are thinking – not to mention a taste for blood. Reveling in their new powers and their growing feelings for each other, Ellie and Michael are determined to uncover what they are, and how they got this way … together.
But the truth has repercussions neither could have imagined. Soon they find themselves center stage in an ancient conflict between fallen angels that threatens to destroy everything they love. And it is no longer clear whether Ellie and Michael will choose the same side.

In this electrifying novel Heather Terrell spins a gripping tale of soul-mates, supernatural powers and a truth that will change Ellie and Michael‘s world forever.

  1. I love Daniel Grigori and Mortal Instruments is one of my favorite series. Jace is more than enough reason to read and re-read Mortal Instruments!

  2. I think I mentioned it in another comment, but I’ll post it here again anyway. “Angelology” by Danielle Trussoni is suuuch a good angel book. Its got a lot of mythology on fallen angels and the Nephilim. =3

  3. I’m not trying to be a a major pain but I don’t think the Mortal Instruments series is really a fallen angels series. It’s just about a race of humans that are half angel and half human. It doesnt mean they are fallen.

    1. I agree with you that the Mortal Instruments doesn’t exactly fall into the fallen angel category. And also, you’re not a pain to voice you opinion. There’s a right of speech, you know. 😉

    2. You’re right, they’re not fallen angels. They’re Nephilim. That’s the whole definition of the word. Half human, half angel. It’s not a special race of humans or angels, its cross breeding (for lack of a better term).

  4. I didnt realize that the Fallen movies that aired on ABC family years ago were actually the movie representation of The Fallen series .. I was going to read them but I guess no need now 🙂

PS the main character Aaron is played by Paul Wesley who also plays Stefan Salvatore in The TV version of The Vampire Diaries on the CW

  6. Inescapable (Book 1) By: Amy A. Bartol
    Intuition (Book 2)
    Indepted (Book 3)
She is a new self published author but her books are divine! I loved every second of reading them! They are teen books but also are really nice for kids who are in college like me. Enjoy!!!!

  7. I have read fallen, torment, passion and rapture and it was a bit like reading twilight but just with Angels instead of vampires. I love a good story line but am over all the dark brooding teenagers.
I need a story with a little more substance, wink wink, nudge nudge. Nothing like mills an boons but just something more than innocent teenagers.
I love the idea of angels over vampires.
    Any suggestions please?

  8. sweet evil good book you will melt like a popsicle left outside on blazing hot summer day it’sbetter than hush hush and mortal insterments belive it of not

  9. Angelfall by Susan We; and Angel and Angel Burn which are both by L.A. Weatherly. I hope those who read this and the books I have suggested will like these books as much as I did. 🙂

    1. Darn. Sorry I didn’t complete my first sentence. I was going to say that those are three other books that are angel related and romantic. Also, I loved Halo.

  10. Oh dear. Right after I post my recommendations, I notice someone else posted the same books. Well, maybe someone will be like me and totally not see the other comments.

  11. I’m in love with the hush hush series! I’m honestly don’t know what to do now that I’ve finished it. Any book recommendations?

  12. Do someone have books like Hush Hush and Patch? It’s okay if it isn’t about Angels, but that the boy is like Patch 😉

  13. I read a series of novel’s in the 90’s about fallen angels and can’t for the life of me remember the names….if anyone can help?!
