Countdown to Mockingjay: U.S. vs. U.K. Covers

As our countdown to Mockingjay continues today, we want to take a look to compare & contrast the series covers from the U.S. and the U.K. Both sets of covers have a very distinct look and are consistent through all three books. But the U.S. and U.K. editions have decidedly different themes. Take a look:

The Hunger Games:

Catching Fire:

Mockingjay:

For the comments: Which covers do you like best? What elements do you like about the U.S. and the U.K. covers?

  1. The US cover is definitely my pick. Very uniform and free of the Stephenie Meyer quote. I don’t know why the UK differentiated with a new cover because they don’t make sense to me. Grr.

  2. I think that both covers are catchy, although for the U.K. cover I would have left out Stephanie Meyers’ comment. I really like the U.S. Mockinjay cover better though!!

  3. I like the US covers better. I hate when they think we’re too stupid to know the books are a trilogy and have to point out HG on each. It’s like the Twilight movies – annoying!

  4. Well I definately love the US cover and how much they symbolize the books. Espeacially with Mockingjay and how the bird is kind of bursting out of this circle and flying free. Don’t really like the UK covers except for the first one. I like how there is kind of a bull’s eye gun mark on it.
