As Novel Novice staff member Stephanie knows, I’ve spent the last several months volunteering with Portland, Oregon’s Wordstock Festival — the Northwest’s largest book festival. My job? The Young Adult/Children’s Author Coordinator — which means I’ve been in charge of tracking down & booking YA & children’s authors for this year’s festival. It’s a lot of work, but it’s been a ton of fun — and since we’re close to finalizing our author line-up, a partial list of attending authors have been posted.
I’m especially excited about our line-up of Young Adult authors. Here’s a list of confirmed YA authors so-far:
Joelle Anthony
Nancy Coffelt
Kerry Cohen Hoffman
Becca Fitzpatrick
Heather Vogel Frederick
April Henry
Amanda Howells
L.K. Madigan
Kaleb Nation
Patrick Ness
Renee Watson
Conrad Wesselhoeft
There’s a few more who I can’t name publicly quite yet (we still need them to return their author questionnaires … and I’ve been bugging them about it all week!) — but stay tuned for more updates about Wordstock in the coming weeks and months.
Wordstock takes place October 9th-10th in Portland, Oregon. I highly recommend it for authors, readers, and aspiring writers alike. There’s TONS going on during the festival and you really don’t want to miss it.
Plus, Stephanie & I will both be there, so … bonus. š
Check out more about the festival and see how you can be a volunteer at the Wordstock website.
