Mockingjay cover comparison: U.S. vs. U.K. editions

Earlier today, Scholastic unveiled the U.K. cover for Mockingjay, the third and final book in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. The book comes out on August 24th in both countries — but they have decidedly different covers. Take a look at both below, and share your thoughts on them below:

For the comments: What do you think of the two different covers? Which one do you like better, and why?

  1. I like the US cover the best. Maybe because it goes with the US covers the best, but I also think that this cover looks more peaceful than the UK version. It makes me think that everything will turn out okay in the end, and that my beloved characters will live happily ever after. The UK version just looks angry to me. Not as happy.

  2. I like the US cover best. I can’t stand it when the powers at be think we’re too stupid to know the book is part of a series and have to point it out to us ie The Hunger Games Mockingjay.
