Stephenie Meyer recommends books, music & movies

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has updated her official website this morning with a bevy of recommendations.

For books, she recommends The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows. Meyer writes:

It was one of those books that feel absolutely perfect and satisfying, and when you finish it you sit around wishing that you could find another book just like it.

Meyer also recommended the band Metric, particularly their 2009 album Fantasies.

And she has nothing but praise for the upcoming book-to-movie adaptation Dear John, based on a Nicolas Sparks novel:

I will confess, I cried. Also, I discovered Channing Tatum, who I’ve somehow missed until now. Likey. Lots. Amanda Seyfried is entrancing as always, and the chemistry (chemistry is always the crux of a movie for me) between them is lovely. Though the chemistry between Channing Tatum and Richard Jenkins (who plays his father) was my favorite part.

Read all of Meyer’s message on her official website.

  1. I read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows on the plane while traveling from Vancouver, BC (Canada) to Helsiniki, Finland last fall and totally fell in love with the book.

My boyfriend was born on one of the Channel Islands (Jersey) so I was really interested in reading a book about one of the Channel Islands, plus I am fascinated by WWII history.

Just like Stephanie Meyers, it left me wishing I could read more like it. If anyone knows any books in that style, I would love to hear about it.
