It’s no secret that books often make some of the best movies — just look at the massive success of movies such as Harry Potter, Twilight and The Da Vinci Code. Of course, we all know that the book is always better than the movie — but that doesn’t stop us from loving the big screen versions, too.

The Creative Arts Examiner (Amanda Bell, who also writes the Twilight Examiner column) has a great collection of articles looking at the 10 most promising book-to-film translations of 2010:

  1. The Lovely Bones
  2. Dear John
  3. Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
  4. Shutter Island
  5. Alice in Wonderland
  6. The Losers
  7. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
  8. Priest
  9. Eat, Pray, Love
  10. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

The Lovely Bones is getting a little too much promotion. The song in the trailer really freaks me out. Just a little too haunting.

Of course I can’t wait to see Eclipse and HP. And I’ve been a fan of Alice in Wonderland since I could read so I’ll be curiouser and curiouser to see the muchness of that!

I agree about “The Lovely Bones” … I was more interested in it before the hype. Now … meh, I can wait until it’s on TV.
