
Released last month, Mockingbird S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary #1 graphic novel is the first in a series of standalone comics celebrating S.H.I.E.L.D. and the women of Marvel.
Included in the comic is the first-ever appearance of Red Widow — who is also a featured player in Margaret Stohl’s new book Black Widow: Forever Red.
Here’s what Margie told The Mary Sue about the character, and her contribution to the comic:
Red Widow’s story first emerges within the pages of Mockingbird: S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary #1, and will then be featured in my upcoming (prose) novel, Black Widow: Forever Red. I couldn’t be prouder of both Widows—and of Marvel Comics, for being so supportive of the two of them.
