ABOUT THE SERIES
Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can’t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse–Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. When Percy’s mom finds out, she knows it’s time that he knew the truth about where he came from, and that he go to the one place he’ll be safe. She sends Percy to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island), where he learns that the father he never knew is Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon a mystery unfolds and together with his friends–one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena–Percy sets out on a quest across the United States to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.

After much deliberation (somewhat due to the most recent novel of “The Dresden Files”) I’ll have to choose Hades as my favorite Greek god, because he’s the most misunderstood.
One of my favorite Greek Gods, even before this series, has always been Hermes. He was never portrayed to be as vindictive as the rest of his Olympic family and always seemed to be more in favor (and helpful) of the mortals that worshiped them.
Poseidon! Because 1) I love Percy, and 2) I love the sea. Thank you!
I love Artemis because she may be a more forgotten god in the series (of the ones we’ve met) and just in general, but no matter the story, she is a strong-willed but-kicking woman with a bow. It’s wonderful.
This is hard, because I have loved Greek mythology since I was introduced to it in middle school. But, if I had to choose (which I do) I’d say that Apollo is my favorite. Music, art, poetry, knowledge. I’m into the same things 🙂
Hades is definitely my favorite Greek god. I’ve been fascinated with Greek mythology for years and years, and I always come back to Hades.
The Greek God that is my favorite has to be Poseidon because he was an amazing character in the series even though he wasn’t seen often in the books.
Hermes! Because he can fly and he’s kind of a funny trickster.
My favorite Greek God is Athena because she is really smart and totally kick-butt!
I’ve always really loved Athena. (It doesn’t hurt that her counterpart is Minerva. I already loved Athena, but to have someone who shares a name with McGonagall just makes you even better in my opinion!)
Definitely Poseidon! I love him because I think he is the strongest and most powerful among the siblings because because he controls likely the most powerful force on earth.
And his powers are amazing! I also love the sea and horses (although not the earthquake, though). I think he would’ve been a perfect ruler!
Ooo… I sometimes feel a lot of pity for Hades, so that’s why I generally like him, but I also really like Ares. I know, it’s weird considering everyone hates him, but he’s the God of War! And in books, war is a must. 🙂
I really like Hades and Ares. They’re usually the most hated, but I just like how their characters are necessary for the stories to play out.
I like Athena and Poseidon the best. These are great stories!
I’d have to say my favorite is Dionysus. I mean come one, he’s the god of wine, what’s better than that?! Not to mention he’s pretty funny in the Percy series.
Dionysus is my favorite god, if only because I, too, am a fan of drinking and partying.
Athena is the bomb! She’s kick-butt in every way.
My favorite is Hestia! I love Apollo too though.
Zues cause he’s the big daddy god of em all.
I like Athena.
I like Zeus because he is the big boss 🙂
I like Athena because she’s strong and wise.
As a strong, intelligent women, I have to go with Athena as my favorite Greek Goddess. She can make her own decisions and doesn’t waste time on the the idiotic choices of her brethren (i.e. Ares).
