Today, I am super excited to kick off our July 2013 Book of the Month (yes, we went on a small hiatus in June … I’m a busy bride). And this month’s series is actually one of my favorites, and I am doing everything I can to help get the word out about this really fantastic and fun-to-read group of books.
The Watchers Series by Veronica Wolff features a young woman, Drew, who finds herself training to become a “Watcher” — someone to help assist a mysterious group of vampires, living on an equally mysterious island. The books show that it is a vicious training to become a “Watcher,” and not all of those who try to attain this title will survive.
Packed in with all the action, mystery and intrigue is a level of sexy, sultry romance that is hard to find in YA fiction. It is mature and tantalizing, while still remaining appropriate for teen readers.
