You guys have been waiting patiently, anxious to know who the winners are from our Contest of Epic. Well, I have good and bad news. The good news is, you’ll start to find out the winners TODAY … the bad news is, we’re only revealing one winner a day. Yep, we’re dragging the anticipation out a bit. That’s because your entries were SO GOOD, we wanted to really showcase them individually. So tune in over the next nine days as we reveal one winner a day, all leading up to the grand prize winner. And unlike most of our contests, I’ll also be contacting our winners by email after the last announcement has been made to check in. So keep an eye on your inboxes, too!
We begin with our five runners-up, who’ve been posted in no particular order. First up today, we have Tracy B., with a story that truly warms our hearts:
Christmas was drawing near. I wanted to get my daughter a really good book for the time she was on vacation away from school. However, the closer Christmas was arriving, the more frantic I was becoming. I needed a book that was in keeping with her interests of animals and adventures.
I was at a loss, but turned to @MrsPStorytime on twitter. She is a woman that I not only remember seeing her on a TV series, but have been following her for many months and tweet with her often. She is a woman who inspires children to read and write stories. A woman that I admire deeply.
One night, I saw that she was tweeting and I asked her to help me with a book for my 12 year old daughter. She replied that she couldn’t assist me in the age category. She recommended that I contact @NovelNovice for guidance. I trust Mrs. P and did just that.
Being unfamiliar with NovelNovice, I wasn’t certain that there would be any more books available that my daughter had not read in her favorite genre. When I tweeted to them, I was impressed that I received a quick reply with a recommendation.
NovelNovice recommended The Familiars by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson. I immediately went online to get more information. It was a perfect selection. The next day, I was out buying the book. It fit right into my daughter’s interests. The weight that I had been feeling for days finally left.
On Christmas morning, my daughter opened this gift. She read the sleeve and immediately began to read it. We had to ask her to at least open her other gifts. She did, but went back to reading the book.
NovelNovice helped me in a desperate and stressful time. I am so grateful for their assistance and I am a huge fan. I will always turn to them for ideas pertaining to my daughter’s reading interests. I also will direct my friends to them.

This was a nice post.
