
* We begin with some exciting casting news regarding the upcoming Mortal Instruments movie adaptation — actress Lily Collins has been cast as Clary! Cassandra Clare shared the news (via Deadline) on her blog.
What say you, fellow Mortal Instruments fans? I think she looks great for the role! And as everyone else has noted, now we begin the wait to see who will be cast as Jace … (And of course, lots of fans love Alex Pettyfer. And so do we. Just keep reading for TWO chances to admire him!)
* The 2011 William C. Morris Award finalists were announced by the ALA. This is the award given to debut authors for outstanding YA fiction (L.K. Madigan won this year for Flash Burnout). Here are this year’s finalists:

* Our friends at Reelz Channel have a great article comparing Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series to Twilight — and how, despite many similarities, they are definitely NOT the same. But hey, we can enjoy them both, right? Right!
* MTV’s Hollywood Crush wants you to vote for your favorite YA novel of 2010. Personally, I think their list is a bit narrow-minded (I love some of their picks, but others I find a bit questionable).
