Another beloved book hits the big screen today, with the theatrical release of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It’s been many years since I read the Narnia books, but I remember that Voyage of the Dawn Treader was always my favorite. In 4th grade, I directed a theatrical adaptation of one scene with my classmates. And I even recreated my own version of a map of Narnia.
I was a big fan of the first Narnia movie, The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe — and while, like most people, I was disappointed by Prince Caspian, I have high hopes for Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Besides the fact that it looks incredible, the production got a bit of a makeover with a new studio and therefore fresh eyes on the adaptation.
Here’s more about the movie & the trailer:
Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.
