This is Teen Read Week, and we thought what better way to celebrate than by featuring some awesome teen bloggers. So all this week, we’re featuring guest blogs from some of our favorite teen bloggers! That is actual TEENS who blog about books. (Because while the Novel Novice staff loves YA, it’s been a few years since any of us were considered teens).
Today’s guest blog is from Courtney Reads:
When I think of a book that made me feel, Sea by Heidi R. Kling immediately pops into my mind. From the moment I read the first page, I was captivated and thrown into another part of myself. A better part of myself. A part that stopped and took inventory on all I have in life.
We all have a book that has changed our lives in one way or another. There is just something about that novel that moves you, makes you think. It has beat that you flow with perfectly.
For me, that novel was Sea.
Heidi R. Kling’s writing is strong, which makes Sea’s voice real. And when you have a perfect voice guiding you through a story, everything feels like you can reach out and touch it. Almost like you are actually there. Then, it all falls right into place.
When Sea is in Indonesia, you feel everything she is experiencing. You can feel the hurt of the country. To this day, I still haven’t shaken the feeling. That’s amazing!
Another book that made me think is Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers. Every time I read that novel, I think of how some people really go through bullying. It’s terrible and Courtney Summers captured it perfectly. No one should have to experience that in real life. SGR makes you want to stand up and do everything in your power to put a stop to bullying.
More About Courtney Reads:
My name is Courtney Rae, and my book blog is Courtney Reads. There I review, chat, and rant about Young Adults novels. I am passionate about literature and I keep that well known on every page of my site. Without novels, I feel this world would be a sad place. So, I try my best at keeping stories alive and well around everyone who reads them. Read. Write. Live. The motto to live by.

This made me all choked up.
Thank you. ❤
