Borders is hosting a really cool program this summer called the “Double-Dog Dare Summer Reading Challenge” to encourage kids to keep reading even though school’s out for the summer. Here’s more info from an article I wrote on Examiner.com:
Between now and August 31st, kids 12 and under can take part in the “Double-Dog Dare Summer Reading Challenge.” To participate, kids can read any ten books — and get a new book free from Borders!

To get a free book, kids 12 and under need to simply complete the “Double-Dog Dare” summer reading form (available online) with the titles they’ve read. Just have a parent or guardian sign the form, and bring it into your local Borders store.
Okay, true, it’s only for kids 12 & under, but this is still a GREAT program. And I’m sure lots of you have kids/siblings/friends/etc. who can take part in this awesome deal-io.
