Creative Writing Prompt #24
Carpe Diem
We’re talking about the movie Dead Poets Society this weekend. In this film full of poetry from Tennyson, Shakespeare, Whitman, Thoreau, Frost, and more, there is a running theme – Carpe Diem.
As Professor Keating tells his students:
Seize the day, boys… make your lives extraordinary.
Write a poem about seizing the day. Whether it’s today, a day you wish you could have done differently, or a day that awaits you in your future – your wedding day, a birthday, a graduation…
Though all of the truly inspirational characters in Dead Poets Society seized the day in their own ways, it was the outspoken, confident Charlie Dalton (Gale Hansen) who embraced the dictate and exemplified it to the nth degree. Long live Nwanda!

Amazing Dude, this is very nice info, thanks.
