Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows in 3D!

It sounds like Warner Brothers is getting ready to announce that it will release Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 in 3D!!

Warner Brothers is expected to announce this week that it will release the two-part movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 3D. These will be the final two movies in the Potter franchise, with part 1 due out in November and part 2 expected in theaters in May 2011.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, official confirmation of the 3D Potter movies is expected by the end of the week.

The previous two Harry Potter movies have included scenes in 3D (about 20 minutes of Order of the Phoenix and 20 minutes of Half-Blood Prince) — but if confirmed by Warner Brothers, this would be the first time an entire Harry Potter movie was released in 3D. The studio would have to factor in the added cost of converting the films to 3D and covering the costs of 3D glasses for distributors.
