Lisa Schroeder’s drive-by book signings!

A couple days ago, I swung by my local bookstore to pick up some new books — mostly titles we’re getting ready to feature here on Novel Novice that I’ve been meaning to read, and finally found a good excuse to buy them.

Three of those books I picked up were I Heart You, You Haunt Me … Far From You … and Chasing Brooklyn, all by author Lisa Schroeder. (She’s going to be featured here on Novel Novice in April — Yay!)

Now, it just so happens that Lisa is an Oregon author — and in fact, she lives in the Portland area just like me. (Shout-out to PDXers! Woo!) So when I popped into my local Barnes & Noble, and headed to the YA section, I spotted a few of Lisa’s books with a sticker on the front that said AUTOGRAPHED COPY. Yep, I got all three books signed by the author. It was pretty cool.

Today on her blog, Lisa explains this process of “drive-by book signings” and just how easy it is to do:

I think it’s fabulous! Read more on Lisa’s blog here.

I’ve been reading Lisa’s books all weekend, and they are absolutely wonderful. Lisa writes these amazing novels in verse, and her stories are beautiful and touching. I’ve already finished I Heart You, You Haunt Me and Far From You, and I’m about to begin her newest book, Chasing Brooklyn. We’ll have lots of features on all of these books in April, but in the meantime, you can check out the trailer for Chasing Brooklyn below:
