Children’s writing contest winners announced!

We have some wonderful affiliates here at Novel Novice, and one of our favorites is Mrs. P’s Magic Library — which is perfect for parents and younger readers. MrsP.com provides a free virtual storytime, with Mrs. P (portrayed by actress Kathy Kinney) reading some beloved children’s stories, accompanied by original illustrations and text, so kids can read along.

This past fall, MrsP.com ran its first-ever “Be a Famous Writer” contest, in which kids ages 4-13 submitted original stories. Today, MrsP.com announced the winners:Mrs. P Magic Library

Gabrielle Fuller, age 8, from North Carolina, won in the 4-8 year old category for her comic fairy tale Pretty Princess and Funky Frog.

Isabella Penola, age 12, from New York, won in the 9-13 year old category for her story, Spattered Mud and Crushed Petals about an elderly gardener.

The winners will have their stories produced as videos on MrsP.com, and will also receive bound and illustrated copies of their stories, along with a gift certificate to Powell’s Books.

Congrats to the winners! Read more about the contest & the winners at Portland Books Examiner … and be sure to check out Mrs. P’s Magic Library for yourself!
